The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai’s Center of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management was recently opened by Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. Through research and development efforts, the center will contribute to cutting-edge research, knowledge, and capacity building in the field.
I’m hoping the Center of Excellence launched today will assist the logistics industry in being more efficient, competitive, cost-effective, and able to generate more exports, jobs, and economic activity for India. In a published statement, Goyal was cited.
The center will serve as a catalyst for training and launching top-notch programs to spread cutting-edge knowledge and encourage digitisation, analytics, Internet of Things application, and decision support systems through artificial intelligence and machine learning, digital twin, and control towers.
