Speaking candidly, Anna Faris describes her time working on the My Super Ex-Girlfriend set as “one of my roughest film experiences.” Faris said that late director Ivan Reitman imposed a “rule of terror” on the set during an interview with Lena Dunham on Wednesday’s episode of her Unqualified podcast.
Reitman, a renowned director known for his work on classic comedies like Twins, Stripes, and the first two Ghostbusters movies, passed away in February at the age of 75.
Faris began her podcast by requesting permission to “talk ill of the dead” before going into detail about alleged inappropriate behavior she claims to have encountered while filming the 2006 comedy.
He was a yeller, so the idea of trying to create a comedy during this period of horror seemed absurd. The director would drag someone down every day, according to Faris. It was me on my first day.
Due to a wardrobe issue, Faris claimed she arrived late to the set on her first day, and Reitman’s attitude left her feeling “angry, embarrassed, and humiliated.”
Reitman “slapped my a**” in “a weird moment,” the actress added.
The similar tale was originally told by Faris, 45, in 2017, albeit she didn’t mention the filmmaker at the time.
He “slapped my a** in front of the crew so hard” when I was filming a scene in which I was on a ladder and was meant to be removing books off a shelf, she said on her show. And all I could manage was to laugh.
After that, the celebrity said it wasn’t a huge thing but added that a male lead wouldn’t have been treated that way.
