The highly publicized breakdown of their relationship has been addressed in a joint statement from Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis.

The Daily Mail published a story on Monday in which a woman identified as a former nanny for the two stars revealed allegedly private details about the period leading up to and around their split. The former couple, who were together from 2011 until 2020 and have two children, responded by publicly denying the claims made in the article.

Their joint statement to CNN stated, “As parents, it is tremendously disheartening to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would chose to make such false and scurrilous charges about us publicly.” Her horrible campaign of tormenting us, as well as family members, close friends, and coworkers, has reached its unfortunate climax after 18 months.

The statement added, “We will continue to concentrate on raising and protecting our children in the honest hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”

The unidentified lady spoke with the British site about the couple’s encounters while Wilde was dating Harry Styles, with whom she was working on the set of her movie “Don’t Worry Darling.” CNN has not independently verified the woman’s claims.

Harry Styles, who Wilde is currently seeing, and Florence Pugh both appear in the film. Wilde previously revealed to Vanity Fair that her affair with Styles started before her relationship with Sudeikis, with whom she shares a daughter named Daisy, 5, and a son named Otis, 8.

The couple’s split has occasionally been controversial.

The “Booksmart” filmmaker previously discussed receiving court papers regarding the custody of their children from Sudeikis’s legal team while introducing her most recent film at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, dubbed “vicious.”

When the envelope was presented, Sudeikis “had no prior knowledge of the time or place,” according to a person with knowledge of the situation, who also described it as “inappropriate,” CNN reported at the time.
